Last evening, I attended a reception at the Athenaeum for a photography exhibition titled Vanderwarker's Pantheon: Minds and Matter in Boston. The photos were quite good. I met up with my friend, Leigh, and her husband. We spent an hour and half chatting with other acquaintances. Then the three of us had a very nice dinner at MARLIAVE .

Yesterday, Sunday, my parents and I went to the MFA Boston, the see the Winslow Homer exhibit. It was a small show, but quite nice. The image below is one of the paintings on display there.

Julie has been incommunicado since Saturday, July 26, when she told me she was not feeling well. She is either more ill than I realized (I did mail a get well card to her last week), she's well and too busy to bother to call or email me, or she has dumped me again and is too timid to say so.

I went to the Museum of Fine Arts with my parents this afternoon to the the El Greco to Velazquez Exhibition. It was impressive though not as memorable as other shows.
Julie emailed me yesterday to say that she would be too busy this weekend preparing for her trip to Alaska with her parents. She did say that she looked forward to the swan boat ride when she got back. I emailed that I understood and wished her bon voyage.
