I listened to much of the debate on iTunes. Both candidates worked hard to suppress their respective weaknesses; Palin was more lucid & Biden was more succinct.

I watched the Presidential Debate last night. Basically, I thought that Obama was more articulate, but he missed opportunities to support his cause.
For example, when McCain was touting the success of the "surge" in Iraq in reducing violence, Obama could have said that there were other factors that contributed to the reduction of violence. Such as the cease fire with the Mehdi army (brokered by Iran) and the "Sunni awakening" supported bybribes payoffs from the US government to the tribal leaders not to fight US troops. I think Obama made a mistake by not pointing out these facts. The omission made McCain's point more appear valid than it was.
Still, Letterman is not going let up on McCain. That should be helpful.
