I had a splendid evening in Cambridge yesterday. I saw Sense and Sensibility at the Brattle Theatre with millari. Before that she and I and bionicbabe (with her delightful 1 1/2 year daughter) had a lovely supper at the Full Moon Restaurant. I had not seen Bionicbabe since my brother's wedding. I was pleased to see her and pleased that she was happy in her life. She appreciated Mom's gift of Pat the Bunny for her daughter. Millari is staying with Bionicbabe for two weeks while she takes teaching enhancement courses in the Boston area.

I watched Sense & Sensibility on DVD tonight. It was as nice as I had remembered it from twelve years ago. Emma Thompson is another actress I have had a crush on; she is marvelous here. She did win an Oscar for best adapted screen play. Kate Winslet, of course, is beautiful though she looks a bit tartish here.
Rounding out the cast are Hugh Grant (at his sheepish best), Alan Rickman (as a good guy for a change), Gemma Jones (Duchess of Duke Street), Hugh Laurie (House) and Robert Hardy (perfectly jolly).
DVD's often have deleted scenes so here is one from the film.
